Financial Accountability & Transparency

Eknoor is committed to responsible stewardship, ethical financial management, operational integrity, donor trust, and transparent communication with donors, volunteers, and community partners.

 

1. Use of Funds

All funds received are used solely to advance Eknoor’s charitable mission initiatives, including:

  • Food procurement and recovery
  • Commercial kitchen development and equipment
  • Meal preparation and packaging
  • Volunteer coordination and training
  • Distribution logistics
  • Compliance, insurance, and operational safeguards
  • Administrative expenses are managed responsibly to ensure the majority of funds directly support program delivery and infrastructure development.

No part of Eknoor’s income shall benefit private individuals beyond reasonable compensation for services rendered.

 

2. Financial Controls & Oversight

Eknoor Foundation maintains:

  • Accurate financial records are at all times
  • Board-level oversight
  • Controlled expenditure authorization
  • Dual authorization is required for significant expenditures
  • Internal review procedures
  • Budgets are reviewed and approved by leadership or the Board
  • Cash handling procedures are documented and monitored

 

3. Safeguarding & Ethical Standards

Eknoor Foundation maintains policies related to:

  • Volunteer conduct
  • Food safety compliance
  • Conflict of interest
  • Whistleblower protection
  • Non-discrimination

 

We are committed to operating with integrity and accountability in all programs.

4. Reporting & Compliance

  • Annual financial statements are prepared
  • Required filings are submitted to CRA and applicable authorities
  • Financial information may be provided upon reasonable request

 

5. Conflict of Interest

All directors, officers, staff, and key volunteers must disclose potential conflicts of interest and refrain from decision-making where such conflicts exist.

 

6. Whistleblower

Individuals who report suspected wrongdoing in good faith will be protected from retaliation. Reports may be made confidentially to leadership or the Board.

 

7. Future Charitable Registration

Eknoor Foundation is developing governance and operational structures aligned with future charitable registration requirements under Canadian law.

 

8. Organizational Status

Eknoor Foundation is a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit organization.

Charitable registration with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) has not yet been granted. Donations are not tax-receiptable at this time.
