Volunteer Policies

Volunteers are essential to Eknoor’s mission and are expected to uphold high standards of conduct.

 

1. Eligibility & Screening

  • Volunteers must provide truthful and complete information

  • Background checks may be required depending on role

  • Eknoor reserves the right to accept or decline volunteers

 

2. Code of Conduct

Volunteers must:

  • Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, and compassion

  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

  • Follow organizational policies and safety procedures

  • Refrain from harassment, discrimination, or abuse

 

3. Child Protection & Vulnerable Persons Policy

Eknoor is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable individuals.

  • Abuse, neglect, or exploitation is strictly prohibited

  • Volunteers working with vulnerable populations may require additional screening

  • Suspected abuse must be reported immediately and may be reported to authorities

 

4. Anti-Discrimination & Inclusion Policy

Eknoor does not tolerate discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or any protected characteristic under Canadian law.

 

5. Safeguarding & Abuse Prevention Policy

  • Zero tolerance for harassment or abuse

  • Clear reporting mechanisms

  • Immediate action taken on credible concerns

 

6. Food Safety & Hygiene Policy

Where food is handled or distributed:

  • Volunteers must follow applicable food safety standards

  • Proper hygiene and training are required

  • Eknoor reserves the right to remove any volunteer posing a food safety risk

 

7. Liability & Safety

Volunteers serve at their own risk. Eknoor is not responsible for personal injury, loss, or damage resulting from failure to follow safety instructions or policies, except where required by law.

 

8. Termination

Volunteer service may be terminated at any time at Eknoor’s discretion.
